Desiigner is using social media to speak on this weeks rash of police shootings. In the process he revealed his own troubling story with law enforcement.

The Brooklyn-rapper has caught plenty of flack for not sounding original, but today he used his voice to speak his mind on the police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

In a one-minute Instagram video Desiigner asks why he doesn’t see more videos of people “turning up” in protest. He also advises people who still want to become cops to find ways to serve their communities without pulling out guns on people.

However, the most intriguing part of the video comes when he shares his own testimony about the time he was shot at age 14. Up to now, he hadn’t shared many details about the incident that he says changed is life and made him want to start rapping. But in this video he says alleges that the police left him to die when it happened.

“I was one of those people who was victim [to gun violence],” he says. “[The police] tried to leave me out there, tried to let me bleed, tried to say I fell off a bike.”

Watch the expletive-laced rant for yourself and see if you feel him or not.
