2 Chainz is set to drop his third project of 2016 as he’s just announced a Friday, August 5 release date for a new mixtape titled Daniel Son The Necklace Don.
The announcement was made in a pretty unconventional way. 2 Chainz posted a screenshot of a text conversation with Drake on his Instagram page.
This effort will follow 2 Chainz’ Felt Like Cappin’ that was released in January and the Collegrove album with Lil Wayne that dropped in March. This also comes on the heels of impressive showings on Chance The Rapper’s “No Problems,” Statik Selektah’s “Smoke Break” and Kanye West’s “Champions.”
If all goes according to plan, Apple Music will be bringing us new music from both 2 Chainz and Frank Ocean this Friday. Sounds like our weekend is already set.
