Future‘s price just went up a little higher. The Atlanta melody king has just been announced as a headlining performer at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

Future will be using his upcoming two rest period from the Summer Sixteen tour this weekend to head to New York City and rock Madison Square Garden again, this time for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

While Future has ascended from underground legend to Billboard chart topping rapper in the last couple of years, this appearance is perhaps his most high-profile television performance to date. Back in March he appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

MTV released a video clip announcing Future’s appearance. The short features Future’s voice over dark images of avant-guard strippers and graphic animation building out his face.

“My creativity comes from me being in the studio and my past situations,” says Future in the video. “It’s about mastering the tone for me. It’s about mastering the melody. It’s about mastering a style. It’s about becoming one with the beat. It’s about taking the beat places the beat never thought it could go. My music is a diary. It carries volumes.”

Future was recently featured in his very own MTV documentary Future Reign.

Check out the clip below and watch Future perform at the VMA’s this Sunday, August 28.
