A gap has been bridged. DJ Premier says that Lil Uzi Vert has reached out to him in the time since the young rapper infamously refused to freestyle over one of the iconic producer’s beats.
Lil Uzi Vert has has had a target on his back ever since he refused to freestyle over the classic Gang Starr “Mass Appeal” beat. Even though it happened back in February, the event has resurfaced after Ab-Soul called out “lil” rappers like Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty for their remarks about “old” rappers and beats.
Now, DJ Premier has come forward to let everyone know that no war is coming. Uzi Vert has reached out to him.
This is cool to see. Hopefully more discussions between the generations can happen, which will hopefully lead to dope music being made and mutual respect being shown.
