-Meek Mill’s cousin, Angelo Colon, was shot and killed in South Philadelphia yesterday (Sept. 13). The Philly rapper took to Instagram to mourn the senseless death of his family member.
“Damn Lo! Watching my family die to these philly streets! Probation is the only thing that got me tied to come coming back here so frequent!! My mission is to save my family from these streets and change the mindframe of all my lil cousins growing up in it!!!! #RIPLO,” read part of the caption of a photo of his late cousin.
According to Philly.com, Colon and another man were standing outside a takeout restaurant at 18th Street and Snyder Avenue when a burgundy vehicle drove by someone inside started firing. The 21-year-old was hit in the head and eventually pronounced dead on the scene.
The second was shot in the leg and is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Recently, Meek vowed to tone down the “extreme violence” in his lyrics.
