San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick won’t be kneeling or sitting for too long this Sunday. It has been announced that he has been named the starting quarterback for this week’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

49ers head coach Chip Kelly made the announcement at a press conference earlier today.

The 49ers are currently in last place with a record of 1-4. Kaepernick lost his starting job to Blaine Gabbert last season after he seemed to have hit a wall after two stellar seasons in 2012 and 2013 where he led the 49ers to consecutive trips to the NFC Championships and a trip to the Super Bowl.

In the last two season however, Kaepernick struggled and didn’t look anywhere near the player he used to be. Constant injuries didn’t help his case either.

Now, with Gabbert sucking pretty bad, the 49ers had no choice but to give Kaepernick another shot.

The move is sure to generate more attention around his current protest against police brutality and oppression. Kaepernick made headlines at the start of the season when he started sitting or kneeling during the playing of the national anthem. His actions have since be copied by fellow NFL players who have joined in protest.

Looks like Floyd Mayweather got his wish.
