After all that he has said and done over the last two years in public, and pretty much his entire life, it seems like Donald Trump‘s alleged life as a sexual abuser is what if finally making people turn on him.
In the wake of his “grab them by the p*ssy” remarks and the backlash and other allegations that have followed, Trump’s image has taken a beating. Now, a shrine awarded to him is taking a beat down as well.
Deadline is reporting that a man named Jamie Otis went to Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday [Oct. 25] morning. Instead of peeing on it like most people would like to, he went all out and started banging at it with a sledge hammer.
Initially, Otis wanted to chip off pieces of the star to be auctioned off, with the proceeds being used to financially assist women who have come forward saying Trump sexually abused them. But, after seeing that his skills weren’t going to allow that, he just started smashing it beyond recognition.
Otis’ demonstration is the latest of many. The star has been vandalized three times this year already. The first time being back in January when someone spray-painted a swastika on it. In June another person spray-painted a mute logo over it. Both times the star was cleaned off. Then in July a tiny wall with barb wire was placed around it, mocking Trump’s promise to build a wall between the United States and Mexico. That was eventually removed as well.
It doesn’t look like a spray bottle and rag can fix this latest mess though. A number of petitions and protests have taken place wanting the star to be removed. Those efforts were ignored, but now it looks like they have been acknowledged.
Trump was awarded the star back in 2007 for his former NBC show The Apprentice. The show was cancelled by NBC after Trump made disparaging remarks against Mexicans.
