Donald Glover has been connected to the Lando Calrissian character he’s playing in the new Star Wars movie since he was a kid, hear him explain how.
In an interview with television fairy godmother Ellen, Glover revealed that a Lando Calrissian action figure was the first toy he ever got as a child. He also acknowledged the high school picture floating around on the internet of him rocking a Star Wars t-shirt.
While the new role is a great look, his mother had some sobering advice for him.
“She was like ‘don’t mess it up,'” he says. “Because Billy Dee [Williams], that’s hers.”
