You’re going to have to hold your breath a little longer for an Eric B. and Rakim reunion.

Rap fans lost their wits for a second earlier this week when it was announced that Eric B. and Rakim were reuniting and going on tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic album Paid In Full.

The news was broke via Twitter.

While the Eric B. and Rakim twitter page is verified with blue check, it should be noted that the page is operated by Eric B. not Rakim. Meaning the R never spoke about a reunion tour, until now.

Reps for the God MC tell Okay Player that the news is “completely false.”

Rakim did issue a statement though:

“It’s always a blessing to feel that love and support from the fans and I’m definitly going to be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Paid in Full in 2017 even if I’m not sure how yet.”

So, we’ve learned two things. One, there will be a Paid In Full celebration, we just don’t know when, where or how. Two, Eric B. is out here looking like a damn liar.
