Jeezy has been an open book while promoting his new project Trap Or Die 3. He recently shared his thoughts on Lil Wayne’s “my life matter” comments.

While in New York City, Jeezy stopped to chat with Nessa of Hot 97 about his new album as well as one of the artists featured on it, Lil Wayne.

Weezy has been under attack this week for his out-of-mind comments about the Black Lives Matter movement. Wayne has since apologized, but people still aren’t hearing it.

Jeezy offered a level-headed opinion about Wayne’s comments saying:

“Everybody has their opinion, but people just might not understand. I’m definitely not coming to his defense because he is an adult and he understands what he’s doing. But people have to understand that he’s been a superstar for so long that I grew up on him. He might not be connected on that level. So it might be difficult because he’s been rich for a long time. He’s been living on his own island for a long time. Maybe it’s something he just don’t see…Maybe you just have to have a conversation with him so he can understand.”

Jeezy also entertained the thought of recording a joint album with Jay Z, something that fans have been asking for before it was cool for two superstar rappers to collab on an album together.

“Me and Hov talk all the time, I feel like the relationship we do have is not really based on music,” he says. “We talk about real life stuff, when we kick it, it’s real life. As far as us making an album, I would always be for that. Some of his best verses that I’ve heard, he’s given me. I think that’s because we have that respect for each other.”

Check out the entire interview where Jeezy also talks about his behind-the-scenes community work and the real meaning of “trapping.”
