Waka Flocka Flame announces that he is a free agent via Twitter.

Waka Flocka Flame is free to take his talents to South Beach or wherever he chooses now. The Atlanta rapper announced that he has parted ways with Atlantic Records.

The relationship between Waka and Atlantic started off rosy. His 2010 debut album Flockavelli debuted No. 6 on the Billboard charts, powered by hits like “Oh Let’s Do It,” “Hard In The Paint” and “No Hands.” His second album Triple F Life took a more pop approach but still had the hit “Round Of Applause” on it. But in 2013 things turned sour. He announced that his Flockavelli 2 album was complete, but Atlantic never showed any signs of releasing it. Then months after that announcement, he and Gucci Mane, the man who got him his record deal through his 1017 Brick Squad label announced that Waka was “dropped” from the label. That announcement was followed by a back and forth Twitter beef that left fans confused as to what was going on.

Since then, Waka has not released any albums on the label, instead relying on mixtapes, touring and stints on reality television shows like Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta.
