After pressure from “old heads,” purist and online critics, Lil Yachty finally got around to listening to both of The Notorious B.I.G.’s albums after calling the legend “overrated.”

Lil Yachty pissed off 85% of the Hip-Hop population in recent months when he first admitted that he couldn’t name five Tupac or Biggie songs, and then later called the late Brooklyn rapper “overrated.”

After being the subject of many debates about how the younger generation doesn’t respect it’s elders and why new artists should be required to know certain legends, Yachty finally succumbed to the criticisms and listened to not one, but both of Biggie’s albums.

He tells Los Angeles radio personality Big Boy that he got around to listening to Ready To Die and Life After Death in his spare time. He didn’t get into what he thought of the music, but he stressed that he was never trying to disrespect Biggie’s legacy or music when he made his remarks.

Check out the interview for yourself below. Also, peep our interview with Yachty’s father, Shannon McCollum after the jump.
