Bill O’Reilly has never been one to filter his often extreme thoughts for the sake of moving the needle forward for his Fox News program, The O’Reilly Factor. However, the pundit may have uttered one of his most polarizing comments yet when he seemingly endorsed the practice of white supremacy and Twitter users reacted in kind.

O’Reilly’s common segment in his program, the “Talking Points Memo,” is typically filled with the host’s bombast and strong opinion. Tuesday night’s subject was the electoral college and how it won Donald Trump the presidency. Critics of the electoral process were O’Reilly’s targets, but things turned dark when he suggested liberals want to take power from the “white establishment.”

“Very few commentators will tell you that the heart of liberalism in America today is based on race,” said O’Reilly. “It permeates almost every issue: that white men have set up a system of oppression. That system must be destroyed… The left wants power taken away from the white establishment. They want a profound change in the way America is run.”

Bill O’Reilly’s comments prompted Deray McKesson and several other Twitter notables to chime in with comments, many of which we’ve collected below and on the following pages. Of course, O’Reilly has never backed down from controversial comments in the past and this instance will most likely be no different.
