Mac Miller’s independent success has become history making. Now MTV 2 is getting ready to document those money-making moves on an upcoming reality show.
The still untitled show focuses on the Pittsburgh MC and his Most Dope crew leaving their hometown for sunny Los Angeles, California. “Yes, I have a show on MTV2. It’s very cool. Being an independent artist, I think it’s important to find different ways to bring attention to what you are doing,” says Mac. “With Watching Movies coming out, I just want to do whatever I can to make sure everybody hears that.”
The show is already in production according to The Hollywood Reporter, and should hit television screens in March of 2013. While showing the new life of the young kids moving into the big city, it will also follow Mac Miller as he creates his Watching Movies With the Sound Off sophomore album, also due in 2013.
“The show is going to be cool, it’s a little look into my life … well, all the stuff you can show on TV. I have been living in my studio for months working on my album, so the show kind of forced me to get out of that room and go do something entertaining.”
