Joe Johnson hasn’t lived up to his contract
The Nets assumed Johnson’s hefty 6-year, $123.7 million contract, which was signed in 2010 and only gets more expensive until it expires after 2015. In the next 3 years, the Nets can expect to pay Johnson a whopping sum of roughly $70 million. Joe Johnson is only averaging a shade under 17 points per game. Something ain’t adding up.
