Quentin Tarantino fans will be excited to hear that the highly lauded director already has an idea for his next project. In a recent interview with The Root, Tarantino revealed long time plans for a film titled Killer Crow, or something along those lines, that would connect his last two features, Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds.

The plot would be centered around a regiment of black World War II soldiers, who go on a vengeful killing spree on assumedly white commanding officers that wronged them. The potential film would be the spin-off to the aforementioned Basterds, set in 1944 after Normandy. If created, Killer Crow would be the final edition of the loose trilogy.

“My original idea for Inglourious Basterds way back when was that this [would be] a huge story that included the [smaller] story that you saw in the film, but also followed a bunch of black troops, and they had been f–ked over by the American military and kind of go apes–t,” explained Tarantino. “They basically — the way Lt. Aldo Raines (Brad Pitt) and the Basterds are having an ‘Apache resistance’ — [the] black troops go on an Apache warpath and kill a bunch of white soldiers and white officers on a military base and are just making a warpath to Switzerland.”

That part was written out of the film due to time constraints, but luckily Tarantino had the foresight to acknowledge the material’s potential to stand alone. “It’s ready to go; I just have to write the second half of it.”

Given the recent publicized backlash of the excessive use of the n-word in Django Unchained, it would be interesting to see how fans will react to a more modernized take on racism by Tarantino. Hopefully, the film will see the light of day.
