George Zimmerman has responded to the $27,027 lawsuit filed against him by a security company, with a claim that he’s the victim.

According to the accused killer’s lawyer, the company –Associated Investigative Services—intentionally raised their prices, and in turn the “billing got out of hand.”

AIS was eventually dropped by Zimmerman because of their high prices. “We trusted them to be efficient with their work and they weren’t.”

Because the 29-year-old received most (if not all) of the money to cover his expenses via donations, the lawyer added that “those who have contributed” shouldn’t be “taken advantage of.”

Zimmerman is accused of second-degree murder for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. His trial is scheduled to start next year, but given the high-profile case the former neighborhood watch captain has been in fear of his life.

Once released on $1 million bond, Zimmerman and his wife went into hiding and are staying at an undisclosed location.

At the end of last month, plans were announced for the launch of another George Zimmerman Defense Fund allowing the public to continue to offer him financial support.
