Surprise! J.Cole Says Born Sinner Is Being Pushed Back [VIDEO]

In a move that should surprise absolutely nobody, J. Cole announced on New Year’s Eve that he probably won’t make the announced release date of January 28th for his sophomore album, Born Sinner.

Push backs and J.Cole have gone hand in hand since he debuted although that hasn’t seemed to derail his success. “Nah, it’s not going to make January 28th. It’s going to be a little later than that. I needed more time for it to get done,” he told PopStop in a red carpet interview. “I don’t know, you know, I don’t even know what they are going to feel. I hope they are going to love it.” To be fair, J.Cole announced in an earlier interview with Billboard that he didn’t know if that date was going to stick.

“January 28th, that’s my birthday. It felt special to announce that. Even in a perfect world it would come out on the 28th, but even when I announced that I knew that it was very far fetched. It was a very ambitious date,” Cole said to Billboard earlier. “It happens, it’s in the promotion. There are certain things I want to do with the promotion that I couldn’t do with the last album…I want to flex that label power as much as possible.”
