Man, College Football fans can be cruel as hell, but be damned if this isn’t pretty funny.
Much like Tebow’ing, Griffin’ing and Romo’ing all became interent memes, the newest trend that has struck the internet overnight has become #Te’oing. Started on Tumblr, #Te’oing is the act of taking a picture with an imaginary girlfriend enjoying a nice time.
As you may have heard, Notre Dame linebacker and Heisman Trophy finalist Manti Te’o captured the worlds attention by allegedly “playing through the pain” of losing his grandmother and girlfriend in the same week.
The seemingly heart wrenching story of the star linebacker added with his Notre Dame Fighting Irish playing their way to a #1 ranking gave Te’o huge Heisman Trophy consideration before losing to Texas A&M freshman sensation, Johnny Manziel.
Last night, a report from Deadspin.com revealed that while Te’o’s grandmother did pass away, his girlfriend didn’t. In fact, Te’o’s girlfriend, named Lennay Kekua, never existed. The sharp witted football fans of the internet immediately took control from there and created this cruel, but kind of hilarious meme.
