A Wisconsin high school has implemented a “White Privilege” course into its curriculum and it’s not going over well.

An outraged parent spoke out against the “American Diversity” class being taught to the students at Delavan-Darien High School.

Defined as “a set of advantages that are believe to be enjoyed by white people, beyond those commonly experienced by non-white people in the same social, political, and economic space (nation, community, workplace, income, etc.),” students were asked to do things like participate in field trips to see examples of white privilege. A trip to a local Walmart gave a “hands-on” experience in racial unbalance.

However, the opposition is not behind the course title or curriculum so much as it about teaching “white guilt,” by making students feel bad about their skin color.  “They were told to go and count the number of dolls that were representative of Black as opposed to whites,” noted an anonymous angry parent. “It’s meant to divide and victimize non-white and conditions white to feel guilty and to be more passive.”

Robert Crist, the school’s superintendent said the course was being taught before he was in the position, but that it is currently under investigation. “The class will not be taught again until that process is full complete,” he said, expressing the belief that the teacher’s intention was not to offend. “I don’t he intended to indoctrinate anybody.”

**Update: Officials from the school tell Hip-Hop Wired that the topic of  was a discussed only two days out of the 90-day semester, rather than being a full course.
