Charismatic rapper Gillie Da Kid connects with Pusha T on the energetic street track, “Tryna Get Me One.” Eerie piano chords occupy the record’s soundscape, while the two MCs reflect on various life experiences gained in their respective Philadelphia and Norfolk hoods.

Despite the duo being from different cities, their tales have similarities that show ghettos across America are all the same. It’s no surprise that Gillie would collaborate with Pusha T, considering their common link in rapper Ab-Liva, who spit alongside the Philly MC as a member of Major Figgas prior to joining the Re-Up Gang. Both rappers also share a history with a certain dread-headed and tattooed New Orleans artists. It’s a wonder that there aren’t any subliminal shots at Lil Wayne on this track.

Guess we’ll have to wait for Wrath of Caine to hear more disses.

There’s no word on where “Tryna Get Me One” will land, but feel free to enjoy the track below.
