Frank Ocean ascends to yet another plateau in his career with news that his critically acclaimed debut, Channel ORANGE, has officially sold 500,000 copies. That’s right people. The LP that brought listeners “Thinking Bout You,” “Bad Religion” and “Pink Matter” has reached gold status. Ocean reached this pinnacle in sales nearly six months after the album’s release.

This good news trails yesterday’s announcement that Frank Ocean will also be performing at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, where he’s nominated for six statues. Among those noms are the illustrious “Best New Album” and “Record of the Year” for the aforementioned “Thinkin Bout You.”

Who knows what this appearance will do for the New Orleans native exposure wise? If Frank Ocean can capitalize on a great performance and nab a few awards in the process, he could follow in the footsteps of Adele, who sold more than 700,000 units after her big night at the Grammys. While those are lofty expectations, the Odd Future crooner could indeed see a subsequent jump in sales after performing on the music industry’s marquee platform.

Be sure to check out Frank Ocean, as well as Justin Timberlake, Jack White, The Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, fun., Rihanna and Taylor Swift grace the stage in Los Angeles at the Grammys on February 10.
