Nottz rolls out some visuals from his In My Mind EP with “Turn It Up.” Here, the Virginia producer and MC splits the bill with the legendary Pete Rock, who reminds folks that “your boy still rapping” on the track. The collab is a perfect fit, considering how listeners can hear the Chocolate Boy Wonder’s influence in Nottz’s production.

Expect nothing but straight spitting from the duo, who trade verses over the smooth sample. Nottz allowed Pete Rock to kick off things properly with a stellar 16. It’s actually amazing that after 20 years in Hip-Hop, Soul Brother #1 doesn’t show a bit of rust on the microphone. “You can peep the position that I have chose. I produce, DJ and I got flows,” may be the humble brag of the year, but hey it’s Pete Rock for God’s sake.

The visuals were brought to you by Karmaloop TV and director Shomi Patwary, who created a set of nostalgic scenes that look like they were shot with a super 8mm camera. Footage of news clips and other randomness art integrated throughout the video.

Fans can find another seven hard-hitting tracks on Nottz’s In My Mind, which is currently available on iTunes. The Alchemist, Asher Roth, Pusha T, Royce Da 5’9″ and more appear on the project.
