Cultural pioneer Ralph McDaniels changed the landscape for Hip-Hop in 1983 when he created the first music video program exclusively catering to urban culture. Almost 30 years later, Combat Jack and the Newminati crew sat down with McDaniels to revisit the days of Video Music Box, his favorite moments in Hip-Hop and more on The Combat Jack Show.
Prior to Video Music Box, there was no visual representation of Hip-Hop culture on television. Clearly things have changed, but the residual effects of McDaniels and the VMB movement can still be felt today.
