Family Tree Entertainment held its third annual pre-Grammy brunch in Beverly Hills, Calif. Sat. (Feb. 9), celebrating the life of music exec, Chris Lighty.

Music manager, Michael “Blue” Williams of Family Tree Entertainment hosted the soiree held at BOA steak house, and co- sponsored by Monster Energy Drink, Morgan Stanley, and FLUD.

Guests were treated to “Blue” Berry Mimosas and “Blue” Belini signature cocktails, courtesy of Moet and Red Bull. There was also a complimentary savory buffet. Williams was joined by music industry executives and celebrities like Jordin Sparks, Eric Benet, and New York Knicks player, Baron Davis.

The theme of the event was “Managing You First,” in remembrance of Lighty who died last summer, of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Williams grabbed everyone’s attention with a touching speech about Lighty, his longtime friend and partner. “We were honored to have been able to celebrate the life and legacy of music mogul Chris Lighty, among some of the best leaders in management,” Williams said in a statement to Hip-Hop Wired. “And what better way to honor Chris than during Grammy weekend, leading up to music’s biggest night?”

His address was followed by live presentation about wellness in management lead by entertainment music veteran and Certified Personal Development coach, Sheri Riley of GLUE. Riley spoke on the importance of spiritual health, while Marilyn F. Booker, a 19+ year Morgan Stanley veteran, shared her expertise on finance. Celebrity trainer and founder of Don-A-Matrix Training, Don “DB” Brooks was on hand to talk fitness, and Dr. Jeremy Fine, founder of a concierge boutique medical practice near L.A., offered his expertise on health living.
