Air Jordan 3’s with a Nike Swoosh logo on the side? That’s what you’ll see if you pay attention to ‘Gotta Be The Shoes,’ a special ESPN’s SportsCenter put together to honor the 50th birthday of Michael Jordan, and his signature sneakers.

“You can’t live forever, or can you?,” asks the narrator. The statement alludes to the Nike Air Jordan shoes which still sell out on the regular despite its namesake being long retired from the game. The video focuses on how MJ’s endorsement deal and signature kicks have been instrumental in making him such an iconic  athlete; besides six NBA titles, six Finals MVP awards, 10 scoring titles and a spot in the NBA Hall of Fame.

“If purchasing that little logo, gives you a little bit of help to get better grades, to be a better person, to be a great athlete, then sign me up for it,” says Howard “H” White, VP of Sports Marketing at Jordan Brand, in the video. “Cause really for me that’s what Michaal Jordan exudes.”

Tinker Hatfield—VP of Innovation & Design at Nike (nice title)— designer of classic Air Jordan models including the III, IV and the most recent XX8 is also featured as are some image of the III sporting a “Nike” and “Swoosh” on the side.

Shout out Flight Club whose sneaker laced walls are featured throughout the clip. Air Jordan’s birthday is February 17. Watch ‘Its Gotta Be The Shoes’ below.
