The grind never stops for Legendary Roots Crew lyricist Black Thought, who revealed a few projects he’s planning to release this year in an interview with The Über Urban. The news includes a forthcoming solo album, tentatively titled The Talented Mr. Trotter, as well as an autobiography/memoir, film, and a few surprising collaborations in the fashion and apparel realms.

“I’m branching off this year into the world of design. I’m trying to get into fashion, but just beginning with a few pieces,” said Black Thought, who set his sights high working with brands like Creative Recreation, eyewear brand MOSCOT, and fine haberdashery creator Robert Graham.

His plans to release a solo LP– outside of the two Roots albums already scheduled to drop this year– should excite fans, though the Philly lyricist admits that the project will not be in a rap capacity. “I just started writing a couple weeks ago for a blues album, kind of, that I’m going to be singing on. I don’t know what it’s going to be called, but it might be called The Talented Mr. Trotter.”

Black Thought says that he’s already been writing with Raheem Devaughn, TV on the Radio vocalist Tunde Adebimpe, and Jim James of My Morning Jacket.

Thought closed out the interview by admitting that he’s at a cross road in his life, which was brought to the forefront after he had a moment of clarity at the top of 2013.
