Police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting that took place in Philadelphia late last week outside of French Montana’s tour bus.

The shooting which left one man dead and another man injured occurred last Thursday night. According to NBC-Philadelphia, French and his entourage were getting off their tour bus  when someone in black sedan driving by opened fire.

26-year-old Jowann King from Flushing, N.Y. was shot in the stomach and was pronounced dead after he was rushed to  Hahnemann University Hospital. Police announced that they have  arrested 20-year-old Frank Briggs for the shooting. Briggs is charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and other related offenses and is currently being held without bail.

Montana has vehemently denied having any involvement in the shooting and refuted rumors that he was a target in the shooting. This comes only days after one of his close friends, Rick Ross, was the target of a drive-by shooting on his birthday.

“My bus was located in the vicinity of the incident that took place last night in Philadelphia. I had a peaceful concert and was not involved,” he wrote on his Twitter account. “My deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the families of the victims, as well as all of those who were affected.”

French’s debut album, Excuse My French, is scheduled to hit stores on May 21st.
