Producer Marco Polo knocks the dust off a previously unreleased Rakim song called “What’s Wrong.” The song was supposed to be part of the R’s Seventh Seal album back in 2009 before sample clearance issues prevented its release.

The knocking, soul infused head nodder of a track was on the shelf until the God MC gave his blessing and now the song will be featured on Polo’s forthcoming Newport Authority 2 project. “I’ve recorded so much quality material over the last few years and I really want to share it all,” explained the Toronto native in a press release. “It couldn’t all possibly fit on ‘Port Authority 2’; hence ‘Newport Authority 2’ came to be.”

Port Authority 2 will feature a boatload of guest appearance including Talib Kweli, DJ Premier, Masta Ace, Posdnuos (De La Soul), Styles P, Rah Digga, Inspectah Deck, O.C. and many more. Polo even managed to obtain a cut from Organized Konfusion. Port Authority 2 will be out this spring via SoulSpazm Records.

No word on when Newport Authority 2, a free project, will be out but it will feature Big Daddy Kane, Artifacts, Das Efx, Lil Fame and more. Until then, listen to and download “What’s Wrong” below.
