Something…interesting happened on the latest episode of HBO’s Girls over the weekend. Actress Allison Williams covered Kanye West’s “Stronger.”

Williams, who is the daughter of veteran broadcaster, and NBC Nightly News host, Brian Williams, plays the tightly wound character, Marnie. During a party for her ex-boyfriend’s company she launches into a unique rendition of West’s Grammy Award-winning single.

Not sure what Mr. West would have to say about this, but the attempt is ambitious.

Girls remains one of the cable network’s most popular programs, which regularly surpasses 1 million viewers, and won the  coveted  Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy Golden Globe, alongside a trophy for writer/creator/star, Lina Dunham.

Amid criticism over lack of racial diversity, the cast added Donald Glover to the show for a brief two-episode stint. Dunham, however, denied that Glover was hired for his skin color. “We cast Donald because of a love of his work, she told Vulture. “But having such a conscientious person with so many particular opinions on the topic, it seemed only correct that we should play around together on that.”

Word.

Check out the rendition below.
