The ever so soulful crooner Rashad gets inspired by MED and Blu’s collaborative track, “Burgundy Whips,” and provides his own version. Keeping the title, the singer’s rendition of the Madlib produced groove completely differs from the original concept. Here, Rashad shows his range of artistry by singing and rapping about some of life’s real situations.

“Sometimes bad things happen to good people. It’s the world,” are the first lines to kick off a cut that questions if these are indeed the last days. Personal thoughts about losing friends and addictions also spiral from the Ohio singer’s mind on to the jazzy cut, that will make listeners recall some of their own ill experiences.

Impressed by what you heard? That and more can be found on Rashad’s full length LP Museum. Featuring the Styles P-assisted “The Life,” the project boasts a whopping 22 tracks and the deluxe version can be purchased on iTunes here.
