Looking at Eve nowadays, it’s easy to forget that she was once Ruff Ryder’s infamous “pitbull in a skirt.” She now prides herself on her foreign sensibilities, and returns today with a visual for her latest single “Make It Out This Town,” featuring Cobra Starships’s bassist and lead vocalist Gabe Saporta.

E-V-E takes a crack at crossover hit bliss with this radio friendly jam, spitting inspirational rhymes like “The naysayers, they gon’ try to embarrass ya, but I’ve learned that the struggle builds character.” The visual reaffirms those sentiments, as viewers journey through the lives of a few high school students who rise up, despite being bullied and tormented daily.

“Make It Out This Town” will appear on Eve’s forthcoming album Lip Lock, which hits shelves May 14. So far, we’ve heard her lead single “She Bad Bad,” and its remix featuring Juicy J and Pusha T. This latest track is certainly a change in direction. See the shots below and let us know if you’re feeling it in the comments section.
