The comedic parody duo ItsTheReal, comprised of Eric and Jeff Rosenthal, have been a fixture in Hip-Hop since 2007, so it’s a wonder that it would take them this long to release an actual musical project. Better late than never, we receive a mixtape from our favorite Jewish sketch comedy outfit, titled Urbane Outfitters Volume 1.
The seven song bundle hosted by none other than Mr. Thanksgiving, better known as DJ Drama, appropriately drops on April Fool’s Day. So far, we’ve heard a sampling with the equally hilarious “Beef With Us,” featuring Maino and the Bun B-assisted “Girls With the Dirty Souths.”
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Eric Rosenthal spoke on the mixtape, saying “For the first time, instead of being in our world — where we’re comfortable with rappers coming into our world — we’re in their world.” That’s a perfect description of the first of their two-part series.
As far as features go, listeners can also expect appearances by Freeway, Hannibal Buress, and Lil Jon, while California based producers Tha Bizness handled the beats. If you’re in need for your daily dose of laughter, then look no further.
