The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or the nematodes at PETA, have found themselves embroiled in a cat fight with a member of the most powerful family in the free world.

The animal rights organization has come under fire for using the image of America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama, without her consent.

PETA decided to include her in an ad that also featured Tyra Banks, Carrie Underwood, and Oprah, based solely on a statement made by the White House that stated Mrs. Obama did not wear fur.

Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA, offered a less than lackluster explanation for the move, saying that her organization opted to use the image because they knew that she could not make a formal endorsement for the anti-fur organization.

The ad can be viewed in many locales around Washington, including highway billboards, Metro Stations, and local publications.
