A Matteson, Ill. woman let jealousy get the best of her recently. Alexius Keys is accused of running over her ex-boyfriend’s new flame, and dragging the victim several feet.
Authorities say she went to the 400 block of Rutledge Street in Park Forest at around 6 p.m. last Thursday (April 25), and became enraged at seeing her replacement. The couple was spotted by Keys riding in a car, at which point she rear-ended them. The female passenger jumped out, and was hit and dragged by the 20-year-old.
The victim suffered a bruised lung, back fractures, a broken arm, and had a layer of skin scraped from her buttocks, and lower back.
Keys was arrested on an attempted murder charge and held in lieu of $75,000 bail. She reportedly collapsed during a court hearing over the weekend, yelling “I love you,” and “ya’ll forgive me” to family members in the room, before being carried out.
Her family declined to speak with media.
