Yesterday was the funeral of Chris Kelly of Kris Kross fame. One could only hope that he realized just how many people loved him before he passed away.
As previously reported, Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat, paid homage to their friend by wearing their jeans and shorts, respectively, backwards. ATLPics.net attended and was able to provide photos of Kelly’s “homegoing,” adding that mood was solemn and that JD looked visibly shaken. The euology was delivered by his Kris Kross partner Chris Smith, whose emotions got the better of him several times during his speech.
“My life … it ain’t ever gonna be the same, but I just hope our legacy for hip-hop is never forgotten,” said “Daddy Mac.” “I’m gonna do my part to make sure Chris’ legacy will live on.”
Kelly died on May 1 after being found unresponsive by his mother in his Atlanta home. He was 34-years-old.
