Redman‘s classic third album, Muddy Waters, dropped way back in 1996. The New Jersey rapper has revealed that said album’s sequel, Muddy Waters 2, will be out later this year.

Funk Doctor Spot will actually be dropping an EP before the proper album arrives. He made the announcement via Twitter yesterday (June 10). “this is announcement

im coming out with “MUDDY WATERS 2 the PRELOAD EP” in AUGUST…AND MUDDY WATERS 2 THE ALBUM IN FALL 2013 !!,” he tweeted.

Reggie Noble has been talking about this Muddy Waters 2 (or Muddy Waters II: Even Muddier) project for at least a few years. In late February, he dropped a video for “Lookn’ Fly Too,” featuring Method Man and R.E.A.D.Y. Roc that is thought to be on the forthcoming album.

The “Pick It Up” rapper’s last release was 2010’s Reggie. It would be his last project on the Def Jam label. There are also plans for a new Redman and Method Man collaborative album, titled Blackout! 3, to drop this year, too.

Let us know if you’re looking forward to new material from Redman in the comments.
