Sad news today in the DreamChasers camp. According to AllHipHop, 18 year-old rapper Lil Snupe was reportedly found dead. Details remain unclear, but the Louisiana rhymer’s death has been confirmed by multiple sources.
Around six this morning Meek tweeted, “tell lil snupe hit me up right now!!!,” in disbelief. Official confirmation came hours later when his manager Leem7st followed up with, “The call I got this morning is un real RIP 2 my Lil n*gga lilsnupe.”
The up and coming rapper got signed to Meek’s DreamChasers imprint moments after passing the Philly native a demo tape. “He was in a van, they was finna [sic] pull off. And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me,” Snupe told MTV News in April.
Soon after, he became an Internet sensation after facing Philadelphia Eagle’s wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s protege in a battle that went viral. HipHopSince1978 had a nice tribute to Snupe.
Sadly, Snupe celebrated his 18th birthday just seven days ago. Condolences to his family and the entire DreamChasers clique.
