When T.I. was released early from prison to a halfway house, rumors swirled that the Grand Hustle icon was back in the recording studio penning new music for his comeback.

As previously reported, Kevin Liles all but confirmed the news via a Twitter message before retracting his statement and deleting the post.

Now however, confirmation has been made that T.I.’s back in the lab and hard at work on his new album.

The news was broken by the man responsible for Tip’s hit “Whatever You Like”, Jim Jonsin.

Jonsin told Rap-Up that Tip’s “spirits were up” and that the King of South hasn’t seemed to have changed at all.

“It doesn’t seem like he missed a beat. He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in…”

He then confirmed that T.I. was in the studio and prepping his follow-up to Paper Trail for this year.

“He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email…. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”

I’m sure Tip came up with some new material while locked up. Can’t wait to hear what he puts out next.
