T.I.’s clothing company AKOO is teaming with G-Shock Watches to create a limited edition signature chronograph. The custom timepiece will be available in a single color-way- pristine white with accents of purple & gold on the face and buckle, the brand’s sportswear brand’s corporate colors and the AKOO insignia, A King of Oneself, featured on the band.

The collaboration comes on the heels of AKOO’s impressive launch into the men’s contemporary sportswear market, launching a little over a year ago in the midst of the economic downturn and proving staying power in the current retail market.

Jason Geter, AKOO co-founder and Grand Hustle CEO stated,

“We’re excited about the opportunity to collaborate with G-Shock. The AKOO edition is an extension to their consistent track record. We can’t wait for our AKOO family and customers to get their hands on it.”

The collaboration makes the short list of celebrity partnerships with the watch giant who’s previous associations include Kanye West for their 25th Anniversary and Todd Jordan.

I think this collaboration will be well received.  The white color with the purple accents should make it a great sellersays Dre Hayes, G-Shock North American Sales.

The AKOO for G-Shock timepiece incased in a purple & titanium box with the Snobby fox logo featured on the exterior will retail for $180 and be available in stores as of March 15th 2010.

The limited edition custom chronograph will be limited to 1000 units and sold wherever AKOO Clothing Brand is sold. The single white w/purple & gold color way reflects the brand’s corporate colors- Purple for Royalty, Gold for Power and White for Purity.
