Songstress Tiara Thomas sat with Hot 97 to update fans on what they can expect from her in the near future. However, she couldn’t avoid questions about the elephant in the room: What happened between her and Wale?
“I was never signed to Wale,” revealed Thomas after recalling how she met the MMG rapper. “I was never offered a record deal until after the “Bad” record was released.”
As you may or may not know, the Indianapolis native eventually inked a deal with Rico Love’s Division 1 imprint via Interscope Records. This has prompted many to deem her disloyal, but she says that she actually met the singer-songwriter and producer prior to knowing Wale.
“With Rico, I just felt like that was the most comfortable situation to be in,” Thomas said.
Musically, she’s prepping an EP called Dear Sallie Mae that is due out soon. Hear Thomas talk more about Wale, her upcoming project, who she’d like to work with and more in the full interview below.
