After being dragged through the media for financial discrepancies, Wyclef Jean’s “Yele Haiti” is getting help from new financial advisors.

As previously reported, the organization was reported as having issues with tax evasion and Wyclef was even accused of using funds raised for personal gain.

Now after the controversy, Yele Haiti is receiving aid of its own from the prestigious accounting firm RSM McGladrey.

RSM McGladrey will be in charge of the donations pledged to Yele through the 501501 text messaging service.

Yele is assuring contributors that any funds received related to the Haiti earthquake will be used solely to help earthquake victims.

Yele Haiti sponsored a plane with emergency supplies that left Miami for Haiti Saturday.

Wyclef also participated in George Clooney’s “Hope For Haiti” telethon Friday.

The telethon was shown on major broadcasting networks in the U.S. and Canada with a reach of over 640 million homes.
