Lyricism is a top priority in the TDE camp, so it’s no surprise that Chattanooga, Tenn. MC Isaiah Rashad is rumored to be down with the bubbling West Coast collective. Today, the up and comer debuts a new track called “Shot U Down.”
Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg announced the aforementioned news earlier in the summer, but official news — unlike the clique’s recent acquisition, SZA — has yet to materialize. If just a rumor, Top Dawg and company may want to sign this kid, because he’s definitely talented.
Soulful riffs from a mysterious voice faintly echoes throughout the mellow beat. Meanwhile, Rashad flexes a style that’s more conversational than punch line based. “I ain’t these other n***as/ Cause these n***as is fake/ They ain’t pop a shot/Cause these n***as is “Poppa Doc,” rhymes the newcomer.
