Police have 15-year-old Anferney Fontenet in custody after they say he raped a mentally challenged woman in broad daylight on the side of a busy street.
Ohio police say Fontenet attacked the 26-year-old woman while she walked to the library after leaving her friend’s house.
The victim of the crime is bi-polar and has Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism.
The boy told police that he threatened the woman with scissors and then proceeded to rape her on the sidewalk while motorists passed by.
Police also say the boy told them that he saw the woman walking alone and determined that he was going to have sex with her.
Several drivers witnessed the crime but did not stop and help.
Some however did call 911 and report the crime.
The victim has since spoken out about the crime and is frustrated that no one came to her rescue. She tells the Toledo Blade,
“I’m ticked off because people were doing nothing. Just driving by. What kind of humans are we becoming?
I’m shocked no one stopped to help. SMH…just shows you the type of world we live in.
