Let us preface this by saying that Odd Future have delivered some of 2013’s most potent rhymes. And if you don’t believe us, lend an ear to their latest release, “Look.”
This is straight bars; no chorus. The West Coast collective’s power four, Tyler, The Creator, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, and Earl Sweatshirt, trade grimace-inspiring verses over a hard-hitting posse cut, produced by Nottz.
Tyler and Sweatshirt bookend the cut, but that is in no way an indication of whose sixteen was the best.
Mind you, “Look” comes towards the tail end of a year that saw multiple Odd Future projects, ranging from Tyler’s underrated Wolf to Sweatshirt’s proper debut, Doris. And in a few weeks time (October 31), Domo and Hodgy will rap side by side on MellowHigh‘s self-titled album.
