Rick Ross hopes to enter best album of the year conversations with Mastermind. He recently sat with CivilTV to speak on his sixth studio LP, upcoming announcements, his relationship with Dom Kennedy and Nipsey Hussle, and more.

“I just want to give the streets and the fans what they want,” Ross said on the purpose of this album. The Bawse is admittedly in a great space mentally, but he has a lot to get off his chest. “In the last year, I done seen some things — I done been through some things — so you going to feel that passion and aggression in certain things that’s being addressed in the records.”

He continued, “Even on a greater note, the soulful side of the album, I’m putting final touches on a particular record that I’m hoping to get Bobby Womack on.”

The MMG general’s album collaborations are often masterful, so it would be interesting to hear how he’d perform alongside a legend.

Additionally, Rick Ross revealed that he and Jay Z are shooting a visual for “F*ckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” soon, telling Kanye West to keep an eye out for a then unsigned Pusha T, and more. Hear what he had to say below.
