Hip-Hop and basketball have a host of parallels — one of which is the way the culture often equates up and coming artists to ball players with draft potential. That said, there’s a kid in southern California named Dakota Chris that sounds very promising on his proverbial “Hoop Mixtape,” No Doubts Or Limitations.

At just 16-years-old, Chris crafted a thoughtful seven track EP that ranges in sound and perspective way beyond his years. But that, in part, can be attributed to his family’s long lineage in music— his father is renowned music executive, producer, and songwriter Laney Stewart.

Like a sponge, Chris picked up all the tips and tricks to create songs with subtle nuances that make for a better overall listening experience after growing up in the studio. Pair that with a range of lyrical influences, and you have the recipe for No Doubts Or Limitations.

Stream it below. Remember where you heard it first.
