Hip-Hop has seen its surge of supergroups come and go to mixed results. Given the Western hemisphere bond that rappers Xzibit, B-Real of Cypress Hill and newcomer Demrick share, there’s a good chance that the end product will be noteworthy.

As a collective, they’ve chosen the name Serial Killers to represent themselves and there’s nothing left to imagine with the angle they’ve taken. One listen to “First 48,” the initial single from their self-titled debut and you’ll know its bare-bones rap mixed in with lyrical grit.

The track is boosted by thumping bass and piercing keys–a known staple for West Coast music, not to mention a no-nonsense approach in terms of vocal delivery.

The mixtape will be available for free download and it features appearances and production from the likes of Kurupt, Ill Bill, DJ Khalil and more.

Hit the flip to check out the Serial Killers tracklist for the forthcoming tape as well an electronic press kit and video for the single, “First 48.”
