The verdict is still out on TDE’s newest acquisition Isaiah Rashad. But listeners will have a chance to see what the rising rhymer can do when he releases Cilvia.

During an interview with Diddy’s Revolt TV, Rashad announced the title and a tentative release date set for late December.

“I just want to take you on a ride. Imagine getting off work at like six o’ clock, like 6 pm, and you don’t go home. You’re with your homies, and you get home at 6 am. That’s what my project is,” the Chattanooga native explained.

Yes, that description is a bit confusing, but Rashad’s material has given us an idea of where he’s taking his music. So far, he’s displayed an affinity for injecting his verses and choruses with melody on the captivating “I Shot You Down” and the remix featuring TDE partners in rhyme ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock.

Last week, he followed up with an ever more melodic groove, titled “Ronnie Drake,” featuring TDE’s first lady SZA. The track takes a page from the book of southern classics, as he lyrically dances on a beat that could easily be confused with a classic Outkast record.
