A Maryland man was arrested last month (Oct. 3) for allegedly raping  four young men over the course of 10 years by way of beer pong and extreme sports tournaments. Joey Poindexter, of Gaithersburg, is accused of luring his victims to his home after meeting them at bars after the alcohol-fueled game nights and taking advantage of them.

Pointdexter, 38, landed on police radar after a man filed report on Oct 3 detailing a series of events where he says Pointdexter bought him a Long Island Iced Tea drink, then later woke up in the man’s home wearing what can be assumed to be Pointdexter’s shorts with his own clothes in a heap next to him. Pointdexter drove the man home, where he later reported the alleged assault.

From the Washington Post:

“It’s a horrific s-xual assault case,” said Montgomery Assistant Police Chief Russ Hamill. “This is a sexual predator.”

The suspect, Joey Pointdexter, 38, of Gaithersburg, was being held Tuesday in the Montgomery jail on $500,000 bond. His attorney, Alan Drew, declined to comment.

Hamill said detectives have identified four victims and think there are at least six more based on images recovered from the suspect’s phone. “Our victims become highly intoxicated or possibly drugged — we are investigating that — and then he takes advantage of them,” Hamill said.

Pointdexter admitted to Montgomery County police that he did sleep with the man who reported him for the assault, and have reason to suspect their may be as many as 10 victims in all who fell into his trap.

Images on Pointdexter’s cellphone have not been downloaded in full, but police did discover four images of the alleged victims, including the man who helped them break open the case.
